Services

Death Doulas are here to serve humanity. We serve anyone ranging from young, elderly, terminally ill, healthy, caretakers and even pets. End of life doulas complement the care from hospitals, hospices, and funeral homes by filling in the gaps that occur during the dying process.

Our Services

  • End of Life Doula
  • Elder Care Doula Consultant
  • Legacy Work
  • Available for Informational Group Presentations

Service rates are determined on a sliding fee scale, based upon initial consultation.

All service care plans are specifically created with the individual and their family as required. Initial consults are held to determine the immediate and future needs of the individual. Safety of the individual is a primary focus in all cases.

Additional travel charges added for services outside a 15 mile radius of the practitioner’s office.

Every doula is different. Some assist only the healthy, some assist only the dying. This is why it is best to interview doula to see what their specialty is. Doulas may also be celebrants, hospice staff, or even massage therapists. They can offer support and care before engaging hospice, additional care if hospice is already in place, hands-on, non-medical care and support, companionship to the dying person, their family and caregivers, bedside vigil (being present in someone’s final hours), end of life planning and guidance, ceremony and funeral education and bereavement support.

Death Doulas can:

  • Help create positive, empowering end of life plans;
  • Provide spiritual care, psychological and social support;
  • Suggest ideas for optimal physical comfort;
  • Help plan home vigils; and
  • Educate patients and families on the new and progressive options of home wakes and natural burials.

What type of holistic support do Death Doulas provide?

Death Doulas care for the whole person, taking into account patients’ emotional, mental, spiritual, and physical factors. They provide invaluable assistance in three notable areas of holistic support:

Legacy: We are all born and we all die; it’s what we do in the middle that creates our legacy. What we leave behind is far more than simply wealth and possessions. We can share our story or give wisdom, advice, love, and support even after we have passed. And in doing so, give the future a glimpse of your essence – who you were, how you saw the world, and what gave your life. Death Doulas can help patients with the powerful, uplifting process of developing a legacy plan.

Presence: The last phase of our life can stir fear and anxiety as we each face our end-of-life. This is simply because we have not walked this path before. Having someone present with the experience and training in such a time can bring a sense of comfort and familiarity to the otherwise unfamiliar. Death Doulas provide holistic support as they accompany individuals and their families before, during, and after death.

Dignity: Everyone wants to have a positive passing where they maintain dignity and honor as they exit life. We all have our own values, traditions, and belief systems that will influence our vision and expectation of what that would look like. Creating an environment that represents that vision is important. This along with developing a legacy and presence work, is what an End-of-Life Doula brings to you and your family.

Sliding Scale Philosophy

Our sliding scale exists to help make grief and end-of-life support more accessible to individuals and families from all walks of life.

This work is rooted in compassion, dignity, and community care. We believe everyone deserves support during life’s most tender and transformative moments, regardless of financial circumstance. At the same time, sustainable care also means honoring the value, energy, training, and presence required to provide this work well.

For this model to function with integrity, it relies on honesty, mutual respect, and accountability. We do not require proof of income or financial documentation. We trust clients to thoughtfully choose the tier that best reflects their current circumstances and capacity.

The sliding scale is not about worth. Every person receives the same level of care, compassion, and respect.

Below are general guidelines to help determine which tier feels most appropriate for you.

Top Tier $200/ hour

This tier reflects the full value and true cost of our services. Choosing this option helps sustain our practice while also supporting greater accessibility for others within the community.

You may consider this tier if you:

  • Have consistent financial stability
  • Own property, have savings, or disposable income
  • Are generally able to meet your needs without ongoing financial stress
  • Can comfortably afford non-essential purchases, travel, dining out, or self-care services

If paying the full rate would not create hardship for you, this tier is likely the best fit.

Mid Tier $150/ hour

This tier is intended for individuals with relative financial stability who are still navigating limitations, debt, or competing responsibilities.

You may consider this tier if you:

  • Have dependable income but need to budget carefully
  • Are working toward financial goals or paying down debt
  • Occasionally experience financial stress, but your basic needs are consistently met
  • Would benefit from some financial flexibility in accessing support

This option helps create a balance between accessibility and sustainability.

Lower Tier $100/ hour

This tier exists to intentionally create space for those who may otherwise be unable to access support.

You may consider this tier if you:

  • Are living paycheck to paycheck
  • Experience ongoing financial strain or significant debt
  • Have difficulty consistently meeting basic needs such as housing, food, childcare, transportation, or healthcare
  • Would not be able to access services without reduced-cost support

Your need for support is valid and deserving of care.

If the lower tier still feels financially out of reach, we are open to discussing payment plans or other compassionate solutions whenever possible. No one should feel alone in navigating grief, transition, or end-of-life experiences because of financial barriers.
